Funday Fridays!

Dr. Seuss

Happy Friday everyone! This weekend I’m off to Albany for a mini road trip with my friend Andrew. We’re visiting our friend Matt for his birthday. I’m super excited to be hanging out with two of my favorite people.

Here are a few fun links for your weekend:

Comfortable flats to run around in.

A great go-to bag to throw everything in.

I seriously love this perfume. I could spray myself all day with it.

An awesome book, I can’t wait to see the movie.

This song has been on repeat lately.

That’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend!

July/August Favorites

July_Aug2014 FavoritesHello again! I’ve been a bit wrapped up with summer school and since it ended I’ve been trying to enjoy what’s left of my summer vacation. Thus, lack of blogging, but enough excuses, here are my July/August favorites.

1. Joie Folle de Joie Perfume – I first tried a sample  of this perfume in my Birchbox. Ever since then, I’d been wanting to add it to my collection, so I did. It’s a citrusy floral scent perfect for the daytime. It’s an ideal scent for summer days and even though fall is right around the corner, I know I’ll still be reaching for this perfume.

2. Druzy Necklace from Sorella Boutique in Woodstock, NY – I discovered this necklace on a day trip to Woodstock with a couple of my girlfriends. At $27 it was a steal and it looks so pretty paired with dresses and with casual outfits.

3. Nina Kuna Gold Shark Tooth Necklace – I vaguely remember looking at a random fashion magazine or style blog and saw someone wearing a shark tooth necklace. From that moment on I was on the hunt for something similar.  I came across this necklace from Nina Kuna and knew it would be perfect. I’ve been wearing it everyday layered with the druzy necklace.

4. Mirrored Sunglasses from Woodstock Trading Post – Another random find from my trip to Woodstock. These have been my go to sunnies as of late. I like that no one can see where I’m looking (creeepppy!) and that they give my outfits a cool vibe (even though I’m not really cool, haha).

5. Too Faced Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer -  I really like the shimmer in this bronzer and the glow that it gives. I’m naturally tan but like to give my face a little oomph here and there.  The powder is very blendable  and looks natural on, which is important, because no one likes looking like an Oompa Loompa.

6. Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder – Another great powder from Too Faced. It’s a simple translucent powder that gets rid of shine throughout the day. It’s awesome because no matter how much you put on it never looks cakey. I like to use it in the morning to set my makeup and for touch ups later in the day.

7. L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Multi-Restorative Dry Oil – This is a very recent purchase. Recent as in like 2 days ago, but holy hell it is amazing. I dyed the ends of my hair purple and the bleaching process dried it out. I added this oil to my ends and they look shiny and healthy again. Seriously, this stuff is awesome and it smells really good.

8. Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray – I’m very late to the party on this one. Everyone and their mother loves this stuff, but I held out. I had my Model in a Bottle and I really didn’t want to buy another setting spray. However, Model in a Bottle  just wasn’t cutting it. It was sticky and made my face look like I spread egg whites all over it, so weird. So I finally caved after reading MANY reviews, and now I’m obsessed. It sets my makeup nicely, doesn’t feel sticky at all, and at the end of the day my makeup still looks great. I will definitely be purchasing the full-sized bottle.

That’s all for my favorites. Thanks for reading.

Have a wonderful day!

Outfit of the Day

This is an outfit I wore for my birthday celebration this past weekend with Alex and my family. The bright colors and pattern made it perfect for birthday fun. We spent the day eating delicious food and shopping. Definitely my kind of day :) 20140706-180222-64942649.jpg20140706-180259-64979232.jpg20140706-180005-64805727.jpgTop: Point {from Steps New York Boutique}, Shorts: Flying Tomato {from Steps New York Boutique},

June Favorites

June 2014 FavoritesHello all! June has flown by and I’m a little late on posting my favorites. So without further ado, here are my June faves:

1. AEO Strappy Metallic Sandal – These have been my go-to sandals to wear with everything. I’ve gotten so many compliments every time I wear them. They’re very comfortable and the combination of silver, rose and yellow gold makes it easy to match with whatever I wear.

2. Charlotte Russe Chevron Necklace (similar) – This necklace was the best 2 dollars I’ve spent this past month. It just adds a nice bohemian detail to plain shirts and dresses.  Although it’s no longer on the site, I’ve linked a similar necklace above.

3. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat – I had heard good things about this blush from YouTubers as well as my friend Beatrice. However, I was reluctant to buy it since it is quite pricey ($35) for something that just goes on my cheeks.  I kept on popping in at Sephora however and swatching it on my hands. One day I finally caved and decided to get it for myself as an “end of the school year” treat (even though it was still 2 weeks away from ending). I haven’t  regretted it. The blush gives you a natural looking flush and the highlighter part makes you look glowy. Together they make your cheeks look amazing and it lasts all day long. Definitely a keeper.

4. The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum – I bought this product on a whim because I felt that I needed a serum for the day time. You apply it before your moisturizer and man oh man has it helped my skin a ton. I have hyperpigmentation, so when I break out I always get dark spots. This serum has helped fade a ton of the spots in very little time.

5. Blue Liquid Eyeliner (from Sephora in Sailor Kiss  and Prestige Cosmetics in Azure)  – I have been obsessed with creating my cat eye looks with blue eyeliner lately. In the summer, like so many others, I lighten my makeup look as well as wear brighter colors.  Blue eyeliner is a nice alternative to wearing black which can look harsh on hot summer days.

6. L’Oreal Paris Magic Nude Liquid Powder in Sand Beige – I bought this foundation some time ago but whenever I put it on, it didn’t sit quite right on my skin. It was during a time when my skin was having a bit of a dry spell, so it would settle on any dry patches I had. Now with the warmer weather (i.e. oilier skin), it works wonders. The liquid to powder finish helps to mattify my skin and keeps it from looking like an oil field. It’s light coverage with a watery consistency. When you apply it, it feels as if you’re not putting anything on your skin. I know that doesn’t make sense, but once it’s on you’re able to see a better version of your skin without feeling like you caked on makeup.

That’s all for my June favorites. Thanks for reading and enjoy your day!

Outfit of the Day

Just a casual outfit I wore when Alex and I were on our way to meet a possible wedding photographer.  Also, I’ve decided to just call my outfit posts going forward: Outfit of the Day. I know, I’m a genius. Quite frankly it gets annoying sometimes to try and think of something clever to title these types of posts. Laziness won out and I’m okay with that, hope you are too! casual 1casual 3casual 2Top & Necklace: Forever 21, Jeans: Levi’s, Sandals: American Eagle Outfitters, Bag: Madewell
